Summary: Memorabilia and photographs of Froxfield - Duchess of Somerset's Hospital (The College), assembled by Moya Dixon for an exhibition on Froxfield in September 1995 and repeated in October 2001. A hospital, set up as a community of almshouses by the Duchess of Somerset in 1694 as a 'Heritage for ladies in their declining years'. Includes 13 black and white photographs from 1900-1942; 10 colour photgraphs from 1996; Postcard 'The College, Froxfield', part of the collection sold in the shop, from 1930's -1940's; Photocopy of a print of The College dated 1800, held by Devizes Museum; Photocopy of a photograph of the front of The College from 1944, held by Historic Monuments, Swindon; Article, in a book on Horology, 'The Froxfield Clock' by P.A. Meecham and D.F. Nettell, Autumn 1980; Photocopy of an article ' The College, Froxfield - An Explanation to a Grandchild', by K.E.N.K., August 1945; Photocopy of an article in the Newbury Weekly News by Gerald Hunt, 'Froxfield, a Little Community for Women', 6 July 1978.
