Description

Summary: Pen and ink drawing of The Close Gate in High Street, Salisbury, reproduced for the "Old Salisbury Georgian Period, Salisbury" series. A view looking towards and through the Close Gate at the top of the High Street. In the left foreground is a sign "E. Fricker Boot Maker from Mallums new Covent Garden". The royal Coat of Arms can be seen above the gate, the gateposts to the College of Matrons can be seen through the gate with various people on both sides of the street.
