Description

Summary: 2 small pottery fragments, from Bishops Cannings G76, Wiltshire.

Research results

Two sherds of prehistoric pottery, excavated in 1964 during Paul Ashbee's investigations of Beckhampton Road Long barrow. No record of their context survives and the sherds are not referenced in the 1979 publication, but their hard-fired, sand-tempered and reduced fabric closely resembles sherds from an almost complete late Bronze Age or Iron Age jar, and it may be that they belong with this group, but have become separated.
