Description

Summary: 1 upper face of a rectangular buckle-plate, gilt, decorated with an incised chequer-board design of squares, alternately plain or filled with punched circles. Two rivet holes at lower end, from Ludgershall Castle, a Medieval Royal Castle and hunting lodge in East Wiltshire, excavated by Peter Addyman and Southampton University, 1964-1972.
