Description

Summary: One card shows a group of cricketers (25) posing for the photograph. A note on the back of the card reads "Tradesmen v Councillors Cricket Team". No named photographer or place. One card shows a group of 6 workmen/road builders (?) with a steam tractor and trailer and a cart with stones The road is narrow and muddy and there are hills in the background. There is no named place but the card was produced by JJ Hunt, 112, High Street, Marlborough who was a photographer between 1915 and 1931.Another card shows 2 men in a lightweight horse drawn vehicle. There is no named place or photographer. Probably early 20th century. Another card shows a cart pulled by 2 horses in which about a dozen men are seated.This card has a 1907 Devizes post mark but no named photographer or place. The next card shows a mixed group seated in a chabanc in front of "Sydenham Stationers". An old gentleman standing to the left f the picture is lighting a pipe. There is no named place or phtogapher although the postcard has "Cartolina Postale/Cate Postale" printed on the reverse. The last card is of a large group of people in a field. The women are seated on chairs and are dressed in early 20th century clothes. A man standing on a cart is speaking to them. No named place or photographer and no date.
