Description

Summary: Early Medieval cast silver strap-end, dating to the 9th or 10th century AD. It has a moulded animal-head terminal with a snubbed snout and bulbous eyes. Other decoration could be a plant motif. Small areas of niello inlay survive within the decoration. Found in Ogbourne St Andrew, 2021.
