Description

Summary: The ceramic vessel assemblage found during excavation of the Late Bronze Age to Middle Iron Age and Romano-British Settlement at 'Black Furlong', Blacklands, Calne Without, ahead of the excavation of a slurry pit in 2005. Sherds from context K2, the fill of a ring ditch that was only partially exposed by the trench, and contained a single romano-british sherd and two iron age sherds.

Research results

The ceramic vessel assemblage from context K2, found during excavation of the Late Bronze Age to Middle Iron Age and Romano-British Settlement at 'Black Furlong', Blacklands, Calne Without, ahead of the excavation of a slurry pit in 2005. Context K2 was the fill of a ring ditch partially exposed by the trench, with the small area excavated found to contain 3 sherds of both iron age and roman date.
