Summary: Circular enamel badge in the purple, white and green colour scheme of the Women's Social and Political Union. In the centre is inscribed 'WSPU'. Such badges could be purchased from shops run by the WSPU or by mail order. This particular badge once belonged to Devizes suffragette, Eleanor Hannah Ussher, who died on 23 February 1979, in London. Known as Norah, she had been part of a committed band of women who campaigned for Votes for Women.
