Description

Identification note: said to have been found in field on west side of access road from A360 to Westdown Camp, during laying of a water pipe during WW I. Given to Mrs Teale many years later by former soldier who had collected it during this work.

Summary: 1 pointed handaxe of dark grey flint. Wilmer Type F. Very pointed and almost of ficion proportions - Type M. Some damage but finely made, gloss overall, from Tilshead, Wiltshire. Said to have been found in field on west side of access road from A360 to Westdown Camp, during laying of a water pipe during WW I.
