Research results

A Bronze age gold penannular pendant with a copper alloy core, found with a primary cremation in Bell Barrow Wilsford G8, excavated by William Cunnington. This grave was richly furnished, with a number of gold pendants included. The two terminals of the pendant taper to points and are pointed outwards, although one is now lost, and there is a shallow v-perforation at the top for suspension. It has been suggested that the pendant might be intended to resemble cow's horns.
