Research results

A Pottery sherd probably of Roman or Post-Medieval date, found during Paul Ashbee's excavations of Beckhampton Road Long Barrow in 1964. Found in the upper fills of the ditches. The sherd is an undiagnostic body sherd of a buff-coloured, sandy-tempered fabric, and is difficult to assign to a particular date with confidence outside of a sealed archaeological context.
