Description

Summary: The ceramic vessel assemblage found during excavation of the Late Bronze Age to Middle Iron Age and Romano-British Settlement at 'Black Furlong', Blacklands, Calne Without, ahead of the excavation of a slurry pit in 2005. Sherds from context B9, the fill of a cutting thought to possibly represent a robbed out trench. The assemblage contains 11 Romano-British sherds.

Research results

The ceramic vessel assemblage from context B9, found during excavation of the Late Bronze Age to Middle Iron Age and Romano-British Settlement at 'Black Furlong', Blacklands, Calne Without, ahead of the excavation of a slurry pit in 2005. The context represents the fill of a cutting which may be a robbed foundation trench or similar.
