Description

Summary: Five cards showing street scenes in Ramsbury.The first card shows Ramsbury High Street with a large oak tree in the centre background where the road widens. This card is by Frith and co of Reigate. Cards 2, 3 and 4 show Oxford Street, Ramsbury. Card 2 shows thatched cottages on both sides of the road and has an advertisement on the back for J. Harrison and son, Drapers and Outfitters 53rd annual sale in 1929. Card 3 is similiar to card 2, but with no advertisement and is produced by Frith of Reigate. Card 4 is coloured and shows some houses with tiled roofs. There is a group of people outside a shop. On the back there is a handwritten annotation 'including John Rosier outside shop and Uriah Hunter'.This card was produced by Tomkins and Barrett, Swindon and printed in Belgium. Card 5 is of Burdett Street, Ramsbury. It is a narrow lane bordered by thatched cottages.This card was produced by Frith of Reigate.
