Description

Summary: The ceramic vessel assemblage found during excavation of the Late Bronze Age to Middle Iron Age and Romano-British Settlement at 'Black Furlong', Blacklands, Calne Without, ahead of the excavation of a slurry pit in 2005. Sherds from context G4, material from the fill of a boundary ditch. The assemblage contains 2 early iron age sherds and 6 romano-british sherds, including a large rim sherd from a savernake ware jar.

Research results

The ceramic vessel assemblage from context G4, found during excavation of the Late Bronze Age to Middle Iron Age and Romano-British Settlement at 'Black Furlong', Blacklands, Calne Without, ahead of the excavation of a slurry pit in 2005. The material comes from the fill of a boundary ditch, and includes a large sherd from a very thick savernake ware jar sherd.
