"Plan of the Tumuli etc. in the vicinity of Stonehenge" (map)

Description

Identification note: red numbers added later by Colt Hoare to correspond with the numbers in "Ancient Wiltshire". With the map is a piece of linen with the following written on it "MS The earliest of the maps of the environs of Stonehenge, Crocker's original survey, 1806, with Sir R. C. Hoatre's numbering and corrections" and in pencil "old nanuscript map"

Summary: plan of the barrows and archaeological features in the vicinity of Stonehenge by Philip Crocker, surveyed in 1806 - "a rough copy" scale 6.75 inches to 1 mile.
