Description

Summary: 1 English 'peasant' pottery jug, hand thrown, with an applied strap handle, clear glaze applied to just inside rim to top third of jug and handle to otherwise unglazed body but overpainted with turquoise matte paint (?) or glaze (?) in bands and circles over surface of jug, possibly manufactured by pottery at Vernwood, Dorset, 1899 - 1939, acquired from the McLaren Foundation, Clouds Estate, East Knoyle, Salisbury, Wiltshire, 2005.
