jug

Description

Summary: Henry Hunt jug made in Sunderland with handpainted floral decoration around top, some pink lustre decoration and black transfer on front depicting head and shoulders portrait of Henry Hunt and words `HUNT and LIBERTY/RADICAL REFORM' and poem on the back, probably commemorating the Peter Loo Massacre as many Hunt jugs etc. are thought to but was possibly not produced until 1832 when there was a great resurgance of interest in Radical Reform because of the passing of the Reform Bill and potteries re-issued pieces originally produced after Peter Loo Massacre
