Summary: Memorabilia and photographs of Froxfield - Employment, assembled by Moya Dixon for an exhibition on Froxfield in September 1995 and repeated in October 2001. Includes 33 black and white photographs from 1900-1950's, highlighting the various means of employment in the locality; Photocopies of newspaper cuttings - 'Reception a 'thank you' to sub-postmaster' from the 1950's, commemorating the retirement of the sub-postmaster after 25 years and newspaper cutting from 20 June 1959 'Publican retires', commemorating the retirement of the licencees from the Pelican at Froxfield; Photocopy of an extract from the History of Wiltshire Constabulary from 1932, relating to PC Mitchell, who was a mobile policeman for Froxfield on a motorbike; Colour photocopy of a photograph from 1940, featuring gardener Mr Leslie Naish; Colour photocopy of Certificate dated February 1923, awarded to William Holmes for attending 2 courses of instruction in ploughing; Photocopy of Certificate of Merit dated 1868, awarding a 'Premium for Thatching Corn Ricks' to Thomas Holmes of Froxfield.
