Description

Summary: Copy of an antoninianus, struck around 270-275 and commemorating the emporer Claudius Gothicus who died in 270. The obverse is illegible with a head on the right. The revese is inscribed CON (NSECRATIO) - Alter. The coin is damaged on one edge and was excavated from Blackberry Field, Potterne, a late Bronze / early Iron Age settlement, excavated by Lawson et al, 1983-85.
