Summary: Memorabilia and photographs of Froxfield - Miscellany, assembled by Moya Dixon for an exhibition on Froxfield in September 1995 and repeated in October 2001. Includes 21 black and white photographs taken between 1912 and 2001 and 1 colour photograph dated 1996; Photocopies of newspaper articles from Marlborough Times in 1961 reporting a tanker accident and Newbury Weekly News 'Forty Years Ago' dated 13 March 1997 relating to Mr George Lye, the village saddler in 1957; Photocopy of article in the North Wiltshire Church Magazine of 1 March 1932, describing the wedding of Arthur Dixon and Ellen Hicks; Photocopy of certificate pesented to Harriet Hart 5 years member of Girl's Friendly Society on her marriage to Harry Dixon dated April 1897; Photocopy of notice of the eradication of Swine Fever in Froxfield in 1880; transcript from an extract from Gentleman's Magazine Vol. 25 dated 1755, concerning Robert Fisher of Froxfield, prosecuted for stealing a bundle of rotten sticks from a coppice; Photocopy of Identity Card of Mrs Ellen Copp dated 18 May 1943; Photocopy of the Sale Catalogue of 'Froxfield, Wilts, Valuable Freehold Properties comprising 27 Dwelling Houses, Shops and Cottage Tenements, including The Post Office, Blacksmith's & Saddler's Shops' for sale by auction 13th October 1922 and 'The fully Licensed Free House known as 'The Pelican, Froxfield, also 11 Cottages in the Village of Froxfield' for sale by auction 9th August 1937; Photocopy of A Farrier's Certificate awarded to Mr G. Wells dated 1909; Photocopy of a programme for celebrations at Froxfield for the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth on 12th May 1937; Photocopy of a Food Card dated 1914, belonging to Mrs Ellen Copp, who was wife of the keeper of Littlecote Estate.
