Summary: A copy of the bible, inscribed in ink on fly page: "Presented / to / Marden Chapel / by / Mr Peter Cooke / November 1899; flyer adhered on inside cover of the WILTS and EAST SOMERSET BAPTIST ASSOCIATION announcing the Opening Services of the New Chapel at Marden, 1899, a hand written note: "This Bible was rescued from the chapel at Marden and placed in the custody of the chapel at Stert by the Minister of the New Baptist Church Devizes (Rev. Arthur Whiting F R G S) and dedicated by him on Sunday evening MAY 18th 1952...", plus two newspaper cutting reporting the sale of Stert Chapel.
