Description

Summary: 23 black and white photographs of the village of Imber and it's people, c. 1900's. 1, 2 - exterior views of Imber church, 3, 4, 5 - interior views of Imber church, 6 - Imber Court before the fire, 7 - Imber Court after the fire, 8 - Church Lane cottages and gardens (annotated on reverse "Imber before the new houses were built"), 9, 10, 11 - three views of Church Lane (two are distance views, one from in the lane looking towads the church), 12, 13, 14 - three views of Segram's Farmhouse, one shows a group of builders standing inside the framework of a building, two is a view towards the farmhouse, three is also a view towards the farmhouse during the flood in January 1911, 15 - The Vicaage, 16 - Imber Docks, six men are standing in front of the cottages, one of which has a postal box set into it's wall, 17 - France Cottages and Parsonage House, 18 - 14th century house and Blacksmith's shop, 19 - view of a house "facing the church" a lady and girl ae standing at the garden gate (Fred and Frank Carpente's sister and daughter), 20 - a view across the cemetry, the front building is the school, 21 - a view of the lower end of the village showing a lage group of smartly dressed children posing for the camera with equaly smartly dressed adults in groups behind them, 22 - Imber Cricket Club 1926, shows men sitting in and standing beside a charbanc, 23 - Heytesbury Band 1911 - 1912, Imber.
