Description

Content summary: Second World War German 'Wehrpass' (service ID book) issued to Hans [Heinz] Slywezynski. He was born in Bottrop in Essen in 1922 and called up in 1941. He became a Fallschirmjager (paratrooper) stationed in various places listed and promoted several times. The final entry is September 1944, so presumably he was captured soon afterwards and transferred to the POW Camp on the outskirts of Devizes. Patney was a subsidiary of this camp used to billet trusted POWs from Devizes to local farms. The paper inserted at the back is official confirmation that there is no political or personal reason why Anni Lowner should not marry Hans.
