Woodhenge (book)

Description

Identification note: This was Maud Cunnington's own copy of "Woodhenge" and contains annotations by her and is accompanied by original drawings, sections and photographs of the illustrations, press cuttings of reviews and two letters, it was discovered in a secondhand bookshop in 2014 by Jill Cook, Deputy Keeper at the British Museum, who purchased it and presented it to the Society's Library.

Summary: Maud's Cunnington's copy of her book "Woodhenge", and papers that were inside when the book was found,:original drawings, site plan, excavation sections and photographs for the illustrations in the book, press reviews, letters from Canon Goddard and E C Curwen; also copy of article from British Archaeology March/April 2015 describing circumstances of finding of these papers
