Description

Identification note: similar marked plate illustrated in Coysh, 1974, p 56.

Summary: very large dish or platter bordered with a design of flowers and leaves, blue-printed with a scene of Osterley Park, the house, church and village in the background, the foreground dominated by a group of fallow deer in front of a distinctive single-span bridge; no foot rim; unmarked, manufacturer probably John and William Ridgway, c.1814-1830.
