Description

Summary: 8 colour photographs of wrapped stones at Avebury, Wiltshire. Following an act of vandalism in which the stones were painted with various symbols as an act of protest, c. late 1900's, the stones had to be cleaned. This involved applying a solvent to the stones and wrapping them completely in heavy cloth. A number of the wrapped stones can be seen in these photographs.
