Description

Identification note: All 3 barrows previously excavated by J Thurnam in 1860, see WAM VI, p.323.

Summary: 3 body sherds and 1 rim, from 2 vessels, found in the mound below plough. Body and rim hard granular fabric, black / brown colour, rolled rim. Other 2 possibly beaker, one with incised diagonal lattice decoration. From round barrow G62a, Roughridge Hill, Bishops Cannings, Wiltshire, excavated by Mrs E Proudfoot, 1964.
