Description

Summary: The ceramic vessel assemblage found during excavation of the Late Bronze Age to Middle Iron Age and Romano-British Settlement at 'Black Furlong', Blacklands, Calne Without, ahead of the excavation of a slurry pit in 2005. Sherds from context G2, material from the back fill of an oven stoking pit. The assemblage contains 4 Romano-british sherds, and 2 early iron age sherds.

Research results

The ceramic vessel assemblage from context G2, found during excavation of the Late Bronze Age to Middle Iron Age and Romano-British Settlement at 'Black Furlong', Blacklands, Calne Without, ahead of the excavation of a slurry pit in 2005. The material comes from the back fill of the stoking pit of a late Roman oven.
