Description

Summary: 1 perforated whetstone of dense schist (sheared slightly on one side, but repaired) found with a secondary cremation in Bowl Barrow Wilsford G60, excavated by William Cunnington.

Research results

A Bronze Age perforated whetstone, found with a secondary cremation in bowl barrow G60 when it was excavated by William Cunnington. Other grave goods also found with this burial were a small dagger, a bone plate and a perforated antler macehead or hammer. Analysis of the stone suggests a source in Devon or Cornwall.
