Description

Summary: Anglo Saxon silver strap end, Thomas Class A, Type 1, 9th century AD, decorated with simple engraved lines, with a narrow undecorated border down the long edges of all but the zoomorphic terminal. At the top, the usual fan-shaped motif is absent. Found with the use of a metal detector in September 2008, in the parish of Urchfont, Wiltshire.
