axehead

Description

Summary: 1 socketed bronze axe head of the 'South Wales' type with 3 horizontal lines on one side and traces of 1 visible on the other side. There are hammer marks clearly visible on both faces and on the sides of the axe and traces of surface entirhment of time. Found just below the ground surface of one of the ramparts at Casterley Camp, Upavon, Wiltshire.
