Description

Summary: The ceramic vessel assemblage found during excavation of the Late Bronze Age to Middle Iron Age and Romano-British Settlement at 'Black Furlong', Blacklands, Calne Without, ahead of the excavation of a slurry pit in 2005. Sherds from context B2, the fill of a grave of probable late Roman date. The assemblage contains 3 Romano-British sherds and 1 later prehistoric sherd, the former including a large rim sherd from a jar with an everted rim.
