Content summary: 6 October 1800: John Britton at 14 Rawston Avenue, Islington Road to William Cunnington- writes that he has now arrived back in London having travelled 1300 miles on foot through Somerset, Gloucestshire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, all round North Wales to Chester, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire and is now working on his Wiltshire Manuscript. - has just written a description of Longford Castle which Lord Radnor has to correct,' ... 'The Druidical History of the county will make a prominent feature.' JB has examined several temples,cromlechs etc and noted much information of a profound antiquary W. Owen, author of the Welsh Dictionary. he aks for a 'few observations on wool, the agriculture of The Plain in your district etc... I wish to embrace all the information which I can glean upon every subject connected with this County as little has been done towards it's history... to be published by Jones, Webb and Charlton's 'Account of Stone Henge.' He asks for a 'jar of good honey 10 to 20ibs., butter gives him heartburn. Any duplicates of coins or other pieces of Antiquity which you wish to give away will be gladly and thankfully accepted by me as I propose to make a collection.'
