Description

Content summary: 4 October 1800 : gives advice on excavation techniques at Pitmead 'Three or four men will make considerable progress in two or three weeks. I think it advisable to set the men in parallel lines of about 8 feet apart from each other and that the cuttings be about two large spits broad :- after I had done some, from the last discovered room to the lower pavement , I would intersect those lines with other cross cuttings in this matter (diagram) Battlesbury is still to be surveyed.
