Content summary: 5 March 1807 – copy of a letter from William Cunnington to Thomas Walford – questions the presumption that early British burial were not in urns. He has opened 'more than 130 tumuli on the Wilts. and Dorset Downs finding 'urns with burnt bones and ashes intered from 500 to 1000 years before Caesars invasion.' Describes the most ancient burial of entire bodies with tools, spear heads and beads. Footnotes to points in the letter.
