Description

Summary: A miniature bust length portrait of Charles I, painted on copper, in a blue enamelled gold locket. Said to have been taken shortly before his execution and after sentence of death. Only three copies are said to have been made. This one was given by James II to the Reverend Dr Massey through whose family it came into the possession of the Reverend Charles Lucas of Devizes.
