dagger

Description

Summary: A rivet dagger or rosnoeu sword with the tip broken off and the handle missing. There are 4 rivets, 2 of which remain. There is a rib down on face of the blade and a much feinter one on the other side. Further research has shown that the dagger came from Syria-Palastine, dating to about 2400-2000 BC and the type is Southern Lavantine. The dagger had already undergone some conservation, to have this removed and reconserved because of the bronze disease it is suffering. West Lavington, Wiltshire as a finds spot is also suspect.
