Description

Summary: A dispersed Civil War hoard of 21 silver coins found in the parish of Stanton St Quintin, Wiltshire. The hoard comprises 7 half crowns and 14 shillings. The earliest coin is a shilling of Philip and Mary, 1554-5. The latest coin, a shilling of Charles I with the initial mark (R), minted 1644-5 suggests that the hoard was deposited in or after 1646. Found with the use of a metal detector in May 2012.
