Summary: 10 black and white photographs of the Californian estate of Almeric Rich of Devizes Castle, Wiltshire. All exterior views. 1 - a railroad track, river, trackway, and fenced, cultivated land can be seen in this photograph, Almeric Rich is standing on top of the river bank. 2 - a lady, (Mrs Rich?) is standing holding the rope of a bridled horse, a white and black cat can be seen behind her. 3 - a group of rough stables in the background with four horses hitched outside, a man is at the well filling buckets and watering cans whilst another man watches from the doorway of one of the stables. 4 and 5 - two views of a group of four horses and two cows in a post and wire fenced field, a gentleman, Almeric Rich, can be seen in the left background. 6 - a group of ducks and chickens being watched by a gentleman, Almeric Rich, holding a sack; his wifecan be seen seated in the shade of a small shed. 7 - Mr and Mrs Almeric Rich seated in a small, horse-drawn cart, surrounded by cultivated trees. 8 and 9 - two views of Almeric Rich standing amongst avenues of cultivated trees, possibly a fruit/nut orchard. 10 - Almeric Rich and a spaniel-type dog standing in front of a timber built house, steps lead up to a veranda where a hammock and chair can be seen.
