Description

Summary: Blade from a rapier, dating to late 16th - early 17th century. Under the corrosion is probably the inscription of an Italian (?) maker, on the fuller (the channel that runs down the centre of the blade). The rapier was found in the river that runs alongside the main road in Easterton, Wiltshire. Discovered after flooding in the 1950s.
