bath stone

Description

Summary: 1 flat stone being part of a capital which has top and base surfaces very clean and smooth dressed and two narrow faces of delicately carved foliate banding but one is very degraded whilst the other is not so damaged even through it is grey-coated in places from mould growth but displays an understanding of its small neat craftmanship. Found at Monkton Farleigh Priory, Monkton Farleigh, Wiltshire.
