Identification note: original document in possession of Salisbury Museum

Identification note: records the city began in 1095 and work on the Cathedral began in 1258; lists all the mayors from 1350-1712 interspersed with local and national events; shows victories over the French, and the pague in London; local events include: 1574 A Great Elm in the Yarn Market pulled down, 1557 Lord Charles Sturton executed at Sarum March 6th for the murder of one Hargill and his son by four of his men andburied their bodies 50ft under ground; two large maces bought, a great comet seen in the west; shows Salisbury was struck three times with the plague.
