Description

Identification note: Wiltshire Heritage Museum exchanged an Irish Bronze Age sword for two Wiltshire axes (1961.4.1-2) about 20 or more years ago with the National Museum at Dublin. The sword was never accessioned into the collections.

Summary: 1 axe head with very small edges that could be callled flanged or a type of flat axe. The edges, especially at the axe head sides have possibly hit by a plough. From a collection exchanged with Ulster Museum, Ireland.
