Summary: The worked flint assemblage from Paul Ashbee's 1964 excavation of the Beckhampton Road Longbarrow

Research results

The flint assemblage from Ashbee's 1964 excavation of Beckhampton Road Longbarrow (Bishops Cannings G76). The assemblage is small and consists of 231 flakes, tools and cores. 42 worked flints derive from the pre-mound surface, these include 2 scrapers a core and 39 flakes. 4 flakes were found in situ within the surviving round barrow, whilst a barbed and tanged arrowhead is probably also associated with the feature. The other flints derive from the ditch fills and deposits associated with the erosion of the barrow mound.
