Description

Notes: Bristow Place was a small court off Palace Yard, now the Market Place (Kempson p 28). S[cott] J[ohn], 1665, a wealthy clothier in Chippenham. His will dated 1686 shows that he held the leasehold of Bristow Place. His first wife [Alice] died in 1665. See Thompson 1989, p 208, for reverse die.
