Research results

A Bronze Age bone bead or toggle found with a primary cremation in Disc Barrow Bishops Cannigns G11 or G12, excavated in the early 19th century by William Cunnington. Bone toggles are known in a variety of forms and when buried with an inhumation are often found near the lower arm near a stone bracer, suggesting a possible link between the two, however, this toggle comes from a later cremation grave, and will probably have had a different use.
