Description

Summary: Part of a 2nd century Roman brooch of copper alloy with a rectangular head with fine horizontal mouldings. It has a loop at the top and below the head is a crescent recessed and traces of solder. Terminals survive but expansion downward is broken off. Collected by D'Arcy Hunt at Halfway, Beanacre, Melksham, Wiltshire. The Hunt Bequest.
