Description

Summary: 1 sherd of Windmill Hill ware in a moderate fabric with sparse white inclusions up to 5mm in length, with a smooth dark brown interior and a smooth mid brown undecorated exterior. The rim is flat, 5mm wide and slightly bevelled to the external surface, found in layer II in the north east chamber with burials, from West Kennet Long Barrow, Avebury, Wiltshire, excavated by Professor Stuart Piggott and his staff and students at the Department of Prehistoric Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh, 1955-56.1
