axehead

Description

Summary: A palstave without a loop. It has a trident decoration below the stop ridge, the decoration continues above the stop ridge, this would have been covered by the wooden half of the axe. There are also casting blocks on either side of the face. The surface is pitted with bronze disease. Purchased at Keevil, Wiltshire, but without a recorded findspot.
