Description

Summary: 3 small pottery fragments, from Bishops Cannings G76, Wiltshire.

Research results

Three sherds of prehistoric pottery, excavated from Beckhampton Road Longbarrow by Paul Ashbee in 1964. The sherds are too small for precise identification, but one sherd is of very comparable fabric to a larger collared urn fragment from the site, whilst two resemble neolithic fabrics from the site. No record of the sherd's context survives, but they are possibly the three small sherds recovered from within the disturbance caused by Thurnham's 19th century excavation.
